“Hello. My name is Amanda Speir and I am the proud owner of Compassionate Care; a company that was born out of personal experience, coupled with the desire to make a difference.

I started out in the Care sector 13 years ago and have worked in residential homes, nursing homes and domiciliary care. In this time I have seen a lot of things done very well but also a lot of things done badly!

I cared for my own mother for two years, with the aid of a domiciliary agency, before she sadly passed away from cancer. When you have witnessed the vulnerability of a loved one, it really brings home the importance of good care.

I am a naturally compassionate person and firmly believe everyone has the right to be looked after with dignity, respect and love, regardless of sex, race, religion or disability. I encourage my team to get to know our clients, become their friend and find that trust builds naturally from there

Throughout the running of the business, I continually ask myself: "How would I want my mother to be treated in this situation?"
